All Design Talk Design at Greenbrae Primary School
All Design has been speaking to the future generation about architecture, in a bid to encourage more youngsters to think about ‘design’ as a future career choice. Audrey and Paul Walber, Directors at All Design, recently took part in a project with Primary 6 pupils from Greenbrae Primary School in Bridge of Don, Aberdeen.
A group of over 20 pupils took part in a discussion on architecture and buildings and the challenges involved in making buildings stand up. The pupils were then split into groups and tasked with building a structure using straw to hold a tennis ball. This threw up some interesting ideas and was lots of fun!
Commenting on the event, Paul said: “It was great to see the pupils get into the task. They all seemed to really enjoy it and it was a great way of introducing them to architectural design. Children have such creative minds, which really came out during the session. I hope it has inspired some of them to think about a career in design.”
All Design is keen to work with more schools on similar projects, as part of its ongoing ‘Corporate Social Responsibility’ programme.
